Christian from HAMCO promptly returned my email and explained the... charges, both 'real' and potential. He arrived when he said he would (rarer than it should be!) and immediately set to work. He efficiently and effectively diagnosed the issues and had a well-stocked truck that allowed him to fix both issues and restore my air conditioning. Thank you, Christian! There I was… with an rv hot water tank that needed to be replaced and some propane lines that were beyond sketchy. I didn’t know how to resolve these issues and who would... take on such a project. I reached out to Hamco and although rv trailers are not something they usually tackle, they cared enough to listen. They understood I needed help and they took this job on. Right away, Nolan was out to do an on-site inspection to get a better understanding of what was involved and what needed to be done. He was so professional, personable and knowledgeable. He got right to the task at hand and understood quickly what needed to be addressed. A date was easily booked through the helpful and courteous office team. On June 12, 2024 Nolan returned and again, wasted no time diving in and getting the old hot water tank out and installing the new. Repairing the propane lines and testing and checking all the new system. I can’t thank Nolan, Jordan, Veronika and the rest of the team at Hamco enough for caring, going the extra mile and helping me out of a real jam. It’s not always easy for a service company to achieve the highest level of service that it’s customers expect… but Hamco sure did reach it here.read more

Earlier this week Hamco replaced my gas furnace and air conditioner with a new multi stage furnace and heat pump. The team was led by Shemar assisted by Nick, Veronika and... Tony. They were courteous and efficient, and the work of removal and installation of the new system went smoothly. They did a great job of cleanup in the work area, and outside where the hear pump unit is located. Thanks to the installation team, and to Andrew who did the upfront work of finding the right solution for us.read more

Our old rental hot water heater burst, which left us with a bit of a flood and no hot water. We phoned around to the big box retailers to purchase and install a new hot water... tank. The install dates were anything from 7 to 14 days wait. I phone Hamco, and they sent a rep that afternoon to estimate the job. The install was completed next day in 2 hours. Excellent service and competitive price. Highly recommend.read more

Yesterday the Hamco team replaced my furnace and air conditioner, and did a wonderful job! Led by Shemar, they were courteous and efficient, and the work went smoothly.... Shemar added some unexpected touches - a handle for easily removing the filter, and a pouch for storing the manuals - very helpful for a forgetful and arthritic senior! He helped me set my thermostat and talked me through all decisions made. Thank you to a great team: Tony, Jonathan, and Shemar, and to Steve, who did the diagnostic work on the old furnace and a/c. There are really 2 ideal times to get a furnace tune-up: the fall before the heating season and in the spring at the end of the heating season. At a minimum, annual service is crucial to keeping your furnace functioning at its best.
Furnace Maintenance Tips
Change Your Furnace Filter Regularly
One of the easiest ways to maintain your furnace and its efficiency is to check and change your furnace filter regularly. Typically, a standard 1-inch filter should be changed every 30 days. Higher-end, 5-inch filters may last up to 6 months. If you have pets or an extra dusty home, you should change it more frequently.
Schedule Annual Furnace Tune-Up
There’s no substitute for annual preventative maintenance by a certified HVAC professional. While the normal recommendation is that you have your furnace maintained once a year, it’s better to schedule two yearly checkups if you have a furnace and air conditioner. Annual maintenance helps to prevent heating emergencies and furnace breakdowns.
Prepare Your Furnace for Winter
This involves not only scheduling professional maintenance but also checking your equipment and systems to make sure everything is ready for the cold weather. Keep the area around your indoor and outdoor unit free of clutter and debris, and have your ducts inspected.
Keep Your Indoor & Outdoor Vents Clean
Ensure the inside and outside vents are clean and free of debris. Dust or vacuum your vents and registers inside. As for the outdoor unit, if leaves or snow get near the exterior furnace vent, it can cause problems. Every time you walk past your furnace vents take a quick peek to ensure nothing is blocked, especially, after a big wind storm or snow blast.
Change Thermostat Batteries
At the beginning of every heating season, change your thermostat batteries. Changing batteries ensures your system never has to work harder to get your house back up to temperature due to the thermostat shutting off and failing to communicate with the furnace. If you have a programmable or smart thermostat, program it for the winter.
